Last year was the inaugural Arlington Fire Ball, and it was a success. It was also a huge learning experience for us. We took notes, rolled up our sleeves and promised to make this year’s event even better. We’ve pulled together a summary to help you see some of the big changes we’ve made.
Date & Time: January 4, 2020 6:00 PM-11:00 PM
Location: Live! by Loews in Arlington

Live! by Loews in Arlington generously donated event space for the Arlington Fire Ball this year. This hotel is a gorgeous, state of the art, luxury hotel nestled in the Texas Live! District near both AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park. Want to stay the evening? We have a limited number of rooms at a discounted rate available here.
Invitees: All Active & Retired AFD Employees + Limited Public Tickets
Every person in the Arlington Fire Department doing their jobs is what helps to better serve the citizens of Arlington. We are to ensure we are including every critical component of the department, and for that reason the tickets are open to ALL Fire Department Employees and all Retired AFD personnel.
We are also opening a limited amount of tickets to the general public. Our big event sponsors always join us at the event, but we recognize that our fundraising efforts for this event and our cause would be best served if we opened up a very limited amount of tickets to the general public.
Tickets: $50 per Fire Department Employee + Guest
$95 per General Public Attendee
Ticket sales will open November 1 through December 21. The cost went up a bit this year, but the Fire Department ticket cost only covers the cost of the plated meal – that’s it! And it will be FINE DINING, so get ready. Also, we have an option to reserve an entire table (10 people) for a fee, so that you and your crew can sit together.
Awards: Expanded Categories
This year our awards categories have been expanded to include the entire department. Our categories this year are:
- Rookie of the Year,
- Firefighter of the Year,
- Driver of the Year,
- Officer of the Year,
- Fire Prevention Member of the Year,
- FD Civilian of the Year, and
- Camaraderie Awards
Voting will run from November 1 – November 14 online and is open to active members/employees of the Arlington Fire Department only.
Other Details
There will be a silent auction with a variety of items up for bid. More information on the auction will be sent to ticket holders closer to the event date.
Attire will be the same as last year: not black tie, but not blue jeans. Dress up as much or as little as your would like given those guidelines. Also no Class A uniforms may be worn to the event.
There will be a plated dinner and a cash bar. We remind everyone to drink responsibly and do not attempt to operate a vehicle after drinking – please get a ride!
Are retirees invited I didn’t see anything about it here? Pls post .

Yes, of course! I’ll ensure it clearly reads as such. Thank you!

I just double checked and the Ticket header does read “Active & Retired” but I will ensure it’s clear everywhere else, as well.

What is the intended goal of opening the event to the public instead of exclusively for AFD personnel/retirees only?

Hi Ryan, thanks for the question. We did have general public in attendance last year, as well, although they had to be table sponsors. Since this is also a charity event and a fundraiser for AFCG, we wanted to be sure that our only source of fundraising wasn’t from the group we were directly supporting. We are only opening 60 public tickets, and this is a way for citizens who cannot give to us in extravagant ways to give back and support their fire department.
